The latest numbered Wanderburg patch found in the official Steam announcement feed on October 15, 2026 is 0.9.14, published September 21. The newer September 30 post is an Early Access roadmap announcement. It describes future work; it is not another released balance patch.
For an existing save, the immediate checks are your automatic Lightning Mage coverage, Overtime control, Repair Wrench healing and artifact selection. For a new purchase, review the six-unlock reroll bonuses before assuming that another unlocked item only makes the selection pool wider. Each change below stays attached to the module, artifact or menu named by the developer.
0.9.14: changes that can affect the next run
| Released change | Practical decision | Limit of the announcement |
|---|---|---|
| Electric Mage automatic base targets increased from 5 to 7; upgrades grant more targets | Reassess automatic coverage in a Lightning Mage build | More targets do not prove a proportional increase against a single boss |
| Roaming Storm made more robust | Revisit an older report of the effect failing | No new duration, cooldown or full damage table is published |
| Overtime enemy stun resistances adjusted | Keep an escape and test whether the actual enemy can still be controlled | The patch does not list every enemy's resistance |
| Repair Wrench changed from 25% healing to a flat 25 HP | Budget that artifact's recovery using a fixed amount | This does not set Health Box or Repair Crew healing |
| A second Artifact Reroll added from the start | Check the artifact menu before accepting a poor starting choice | It is not a promise of a normal-upgrade reroll |
| Allied units gained immunity to fire, stun and knockback | Revisit older summon advice that depends on those effects disrupting allies | The developer says allies were already invincible; the castle does not gain these immunities |
| Camera zooms out slightly during boss fights | Use the wider view to read the approach and choose an exit | The note does not establish a different damage range |
| Larger enemies excluded from some percentage-based boss-explosion damage | Avoid relying on an explosion chain to remove every large target | No complete list of affected enemies or new damage values is supplied |
The patch also fixes Tinderbox, the Welcome to the Desert achievement and the Overworld skull display. Those are named fixes, not evidence that every artifact or achievement problem has been resolved. If your result still differs, record the current game version and the exact failed condition.
Performance and stability work includes a 240 FPS limit in the main menu and overworld, and more robust escape-menu interactions, leaderboard loading and map generation. These changes do not guarantee a particular frame rate during a crowded Overtime fight. Use the performance guide when the actual problem is frame pacing or load rather than a weaker build.
0.9.13: boss Silver, damage numbers and Overtime
The September 19 patch establishes a useful reward floor: all bosses drop at least 50 Silver. A floor is different from a fixed total. It does not include every other reward in a run and does not prove an hourly farming rate. Use Silver farming to compare realistic objectives and include failed attempts when judging a route.
Damage numbers can be enabled in settings. Use them to inspect whether an attack connects, while keeping a hit number separate from total damage over time. A large number from one active burst is not a controlled comparison with another build's automatic output. The third-party Damage Stats mod has its own version and compatibility limits; this built-in setting does not require that plugin.
Other useful 0.9.13 checks are:
- Side Arms automatic attack interval changed from 3.0 seconds to 2.5 seconds. Apply this to Side Arms, not to Side Cannons or Side Ballista.
- Bronze Mortar and Silver Mortar were slightly reduced in Overtime, alongside the Golden Metzler. These are enemy adjustments, not a player Top Mortar buff.
- Grassland, Desert and Darkforest Overtime were revised, and an Epic Red Overtime Metzler was added for late play. No universal appearance minute is given.
- Leaderboards can be hidden from the start screen, biome interface and end screen. Hiding that display does not disable the underlying run rules.
- A score legitimacy checker was added. The notes do not publish its complete criteria or establish that any particular third-party plugin passes it.
Locked module options no longer appear in the relevant selection interface. If an older video shows an unavailable choice, check ownership and the current menu rather than assuming that another reroll must reveal it. Progression unlocks, purchases and compatible vehicle slots remain separate checks.
0.9.10: rerolls reward wider permanent unlocks
Every six unlocked modules grant one additional New Module Reroll. Every six unlocked artifacts grant one additional Artifact Reroll. Keep the categories separate: six combined unlocks across both groups do not establish either bonus. The 0.9.14 second starting artifact reroll is a later base change, not a replacement for this named unlock rule.
For example, moving from five unlocked modules to six reaches one stated module threshold. Unlocking a sixth artifact concerns the artifact threshold instead. Neither rule guarantees the module you want will appear, and the announcement does not supply a complete rule for every special selection menu. The reroll guide explains how to read the menu and use the bonus for a real missing choice.
This patch also changes several captain penalties. If a build guide still uses the launch number, inspect the current captain card:
| Captain | Penalty or enemy bonus after 0.9.10 |
|---|---|
| PatchyThePirate | Enemy Cannon bonus damage reduced from 50% to 25% |
| Kapitalstus Maximus | Gold penalty reduced from 30% to 15% |
| Huntress | Extra ability cooldown reduced from 50% to 40% |
| Tankbert | Nitro regeneration penalty reduced from 50% slower to 30% slower |
| Duelist | Extra damage taken while boosting reduced from 50% to 20% |
These reductions do not remove the tradeoffs. Huntress still asks for a plan around longer active recharge; Tankbert still changes Nitro recovery. Choose a captain for the attack and movement pattern you can actually use, rather than treating a smaller penalty as a universal tier promotion.
Earlier fixes still matter when copying footage
Hotfix 0.9.9 fixed diminishing-damage upgrades for Front Barracks and improved its active ability. Side Ballista's automatic attack was reduced while its active ability was improved. The same update fixed Legendary/Special selection bugs and made Meadows, Grassland Difficulty 2, easier. It does not give a complete new Side Ballista damage table or a numerical difficulty multiplier.
Hotfix 0.9.8 fixed inconsistent Ram damage and introduced a 0.5-second delay before Nitro starts regenerating after boosting. An older boost-spamming route may therefore depend on behavior that changed. The patch also made Overtime Mortar projectiles faster with constant flight time. Read enemy projectile changes separately from the player Top Mortar.
Use these notes to decide which part of an old demonstration needs checking. If the build's idea is useful but one attack changed, retain the general role and re-evaluate that attack. There is no basis here to erase every earlier loadout or claim that every pre-patch build stopped functioning.
September 30 roadmap: planned work, not released content
The official roadmap post says a deeper update is planned for Q4 2026, followed by a bigger content-focused update in Q1 2027. It calls the roadmap a rough overview and says performance and stability remain priorities alongside major updates. These are planning windows, not exact release dates or proof that the content is available now.
Do not buy a particular permanent item because you assume an unannounced future module, captain or synergy will make it essential. This tracker does not turn roadmap artwork into verified current equipment statistics. A future announcement needs its own release date and change list before it belongs in the released tables above.
When another update appears, compare its published version with the version installed in Steam. Then inspect the affected card, check any revised objective wording and try the build in a manageable stage. A patch note supplies the developer's stated change; a successful installation, counter check or repeatable run is separate evidence about your own result.
Questions about versions and compatibility
Is 0.9.14 the same version as Damage Stats 0.7.0?
No. The former is the game patch; the latter is an unofficial plugin release. The mod author still names EA 0.9.8 as its compatibility baseline. A newer game version does not automatically establish plugin support. Follow the tagged release and the compatibility check in the Mods guide.
Did the Repair Wrench change alter every healing source?
The announcement specifically names Repair Wrench. It does not announce an equivalent Health Box or Repair Crew change. Keep the 100-box Repair Crew objective separate from the artifact's fixed healing amount.
Does a larger target count guarantee an Overtime win?
No. Automatic target count addresses one part of the attack. Stun susceptibility, positioning, boss damage, recovery and the pressure appearing in the run still matter. Use the Overtime survival checks before continuing beyond a clear.
Does this page certify my installed game build?
No. It reports the official announcements retrieved on the review date. The site has not inspected your installed files or tested every described change in-game. If Steam shows a later version, use its current announcement before relying on a historical number here.
